Sunday Worship

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being” Revelation 4:11 In our Sunday Worship at Cregagh Presbyterian we gather to give praise and glory to God, recognising that when we worship the LORD God as he desires, in the Spirit and in truth, then undoubtedly we will be blessed. At Cregagh we aim to make worship inspiring, challenging, inclusive and encouraging through praise, prayer, Bible readings, children’s talks, puppet ministry and the preaching of God’s Word. We would encourage parents to use the creche and Kidzone facilities if they feel comfortable doing so. Your child will be looked after in a warm and caring environment by people who have lots of experience caring for children and babies. For details of where these groups meet see the church map. Our morning service usually has an attendance of over 200 from every age group. You are very welcome to come along (no special dress code is required!) and join with us. Further details can be found in the sub-categories of this section. For more information please feel free to contact us.

Morning Worship

We meet together as a family of God’s people in Cregagh Presbyterian Church at 11am. Over the years Cregagh has developed a very distinctive style of corporate worship with an emphasis on good Choral Music. We are thankful to God for the choir of almost 30 which leads us in praise to God each Sunday. Normally the choir is robed and processes in to the church building each week during the opening hymn and recesses after the Benediction when we sing a closing hymn. The minister leads the worship along with other individuals taking part through prayers, Bible readings and sometimes children’s talks. The Service follows a fairly traditional format of prayers, hymns, Bible readings, Choir Anthem, children’s talk and the Sermon. It normally lasts about one hour. Tea and coffee are served after morning worship in the Allen Hall each Sunday.

Evening Worship

Evening Worship is normally on the second and third Sunday of each month (none in July & August) with one service being traditional, with choral music and an emphasis on teaching and devotion. The other service is contemporary, often with a special guest speaker focusing on mission and outreach.

Communion Services

We meet around the Lord’s Table, to remember Christ’s love in dying for us, on the following: Sunday Morning Service at 11am: First Sunday in January and October and on Palm Sunday, Sunday Evening Service at 6.30pm: Second or third Sunday in June Maundy Thursday at 7.30 p.m.

All Age Services

Today one of the major issues in Worship is the particular style that is used, whether it is liturgical, traditional, contemporary, blended, emerging or something else. In Cregagh Presbyterian we recognise that over and above all God is interested in our hearts as we come to worship him.  We also recognise that not everyone in the congregation would always choose to express themselves in worship as we do each Sunday, which is why we have an All Age Service once a month.  Although we aim to make all our services “All Age”, this service especially gives added time to the girls and boys and young people, along with more contemporary praise. Usually the praise songs & hymns are led by our Praise Band and Praise Group, and we use a wide variety of songs, many of which are not contained in our regular hymn books. Kidzone and the creche continue to operate on these Sundays. Tea and coffee will be served after the service in the Allen Hall.

Connect Service

This is a monthly service held in the morning (11am) or evening (6.30pm), normally with a guest speaker. It aims to link the congregation with overseas mission.
